Margaret Sanger Indictment

Margaret Sanger Indictment 1914

This is one of three indictments against Margaret Sanger on obscenity charges. Under the Comstock Laws, information about contraception was deemed obscene and “nonmailable.” The District Attorney chose not to prosecute in this case due to the public’s enormous support for Sanger.
