Carroll Appeals His Conviction 1922

With this Assignment of Errors, George Carroll appealed his conviction, claiming that the search of his car and seizure of contraband liquor was unconstitutional. The Supreme Court disagreed, however, and claimed that a warrantless search of moving vehicles does not violate the Fourth Amendment’s “unreasonable searches and seizures” clause.
