Resolution Proposing a 13th Amendment 1865

Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony led a drive to collect nearly half a million signatures for an act abolishing all slavery in the United States. The efforts of this “mighty army” were a major force, according to Senator Charles Sumner, behind the passing of the 13th Amendment.
